Today we carved our pumpkins for halloween. Though he didn't really like to help scrap out the "guts" he loved the finished product. He helped to draw the face and let daddy cut it out for him. He also did a hand print on the back.

Skylar posing behind his pumpkin.

Skylar and Sabastian with the pumpkins. The little bitty one is supposed to be Sabastians.

Skylar Video Blog - July 20, 2009

Skylar asked me to let him do another video blog... here it is.

Kentucky Renaissance Fair

Yesterday, I had a great time at the Kentucky Renaissance Fair. A nice shop keeper gave me a cap gun for free! Everyone saw the skull on my shirt and the gun and thought I was a pirate! After the joust, I got to get a close-up look at one of the knight's horses.

Dad told me about the mud show before we got there. But, he didn't tell me that he was going to be part of the cast. What a surprise! Daddy makes a really ugly girl, doesn't he?

Swim Lessons

I finished my level 2 swim class! I'm so proud of my certificate!

Virginia Beach Vacation

In June, we went to Virginia Beach and saw wild horses on Assateegue Island.... Here's some pictures...

This little piggy went to the vet...

We went down to Clay County this weekend. And when we got there, his Papaw presented us with a four week old pot-belly pig. A lady at his work brought it in asking if anyone wanted it for free. The reason she was getting rid of it was that it had been attacked by a dog and had a giant cyst on it's side.
This afternoon, we took it to the vet to have the cyst cleaned out. Someone is going to have to wash it's wound twice a day and give it medicine. It's still not clear who is going to get stuck caring for the animal. It's life expectancy is 12 to 15 years.... quite a commitment. And, I'm not sure that it's even legal for us to have a pig in the city. Sky likes it... maybe he can visit the pig at his Papaw's house?

Sabastian is allergic to pork; I have test paperwork to prove it. Hopefully, in the end, the pig will find the right home...

Curious Skylar Rides a Bike

One of Sky's favorite books right now is "Curious George Rides a Bike". In this book, George does stunts such as riding his bike backwards....

Inez Rainer 2005

Skylar's 98 year old great-grandmother Inez Rainer passed away on December 27, 2008. We attended the funeral in Wichita and have just now returned home. I made this video of her in 2005.
